AUAS TO HELP SMES WITH DIGITALISATION
State Secretary Mona Keijzer signed thirteen deals for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through these deals, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy is contributing over seven million euros to regional SME projects of provinces and municipalities. This gives businesses an incentive to innovate, digitalise and operate internationally.

Sindy Löwe wins KNVI Thesis Prize for Informatica and Informatiekunde
Artificial Intelligence alumnus Sindy Löwe has become the winner of the KNVI Thesis Prize for Informatica and Informatiekunde. She will receive the prize of 3000 euros for her thesis entitled "Greedy InfoMax for Self-Supervised Representation Learning". The virtual award ceremony organized by the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen will take place on November 30th.

Hackathon: Is BCG vaccination causally related to reduced COVID‐19 mortality?
There has been renewed interest in potential BCG/COVID correlations – as a result, the University of Ottawa, Estafet and Elsevier are collaborating to organise a BCG Hackathon to explore this correlation in more detail.
