Zhisheng Huang’s Tree Hole Group Helps in Battle Against COVID-19

Senior researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Zhisheng Huang, has adapted his algorithm used to help prevent suicides in China to focus specifically on those weighed down by the mental stress caused by the virus.

Zhisheng Huang’s Tree Hole Rescue Team, helps to prevent suicides using AI to search through social media looking for people with suicidal tendencies. Huang’s work was recently awarded at the 2019 Weibo Annual Impact Event.

Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, Huang has adapted his Intelligent Agent 001 computer programme to collect helpful information about COVID-19 patients and healthcare workers who might be suffering under the stress and pressure caused by the virus.
