Four PhD positions at the Department of Computer Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) is a leading, innovative and growing university that is at the heart of society and actively contributes to new developments in teaching and research. Our university has ten faculties which span a wide range of disciplines, as well as several institutes, foundations, research centres, and support services.
Research at the Faculty of Sciences focuses on the areas of Life & Health, Networked World, Fundamentals of Science, and Energy & Sustainability. At international level, the faculty cooperates closely with leading scientific institutes and other partners.
The Department of Computer Sciences has approximately 170 members, including 35 tenured staff members and 40¬-50 PhD students. We are currently embarking on an ambitious collaboration with the UvA Informatics Institute. This will result in the largest conglomeration of computer science research in The Netherlands, and one of the largest in Europe.
The Department of Computer Sciences has four PhD positions in strategic areas. Each PhD project is cooperation between two different chairs led by two collaborating professors. Deadlines for applications vary between September 1 and September 15. Please use the following links to see more details.
