We are pleased to announce that ADS Senior Researcher Evangelos Kanoulas (Informatics Institute & Amsterdam Business School, UvA) has been awarded a Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) Vidi grant of 800K euros. Evangelos will utilise the grant to continue to develop his own innovative line of research and research group.

Evangelos’ research project: ‘Conversational Search Engines’ will focus on searching for information in digital repositories. Kanoulas and fellow researchers will develop intelligent agents able to converse with users to accurately retrieve information in complex domains such as medical and legal.
NWO Talent Scheme: In the current allocation round, the NWO awarded 86 research proposals, from the 571 submitted. The grant enables them to develop their own innovative line of research and set up their own research group in the coming five years.
