Effective Screening for Bowel Cancer Thanks to Big Data
In cancer, early diagnosis is key for survival. This study has shown screening of big data, results in effective early detection of colon cancer.
VU computer scientists Mark Hoogendoorn, Reinier Cup and Annette at Teije, in collaboration with Leon Moons (UMC Utrecht) and Mattijs Numans (LUMC, VUmc) used new techniques to develop a predictive model for colon cancer, leading to a publication in Computers in Biology and Medicine.
