ADS hosted its first webinar in collaboration with CWI, UvA and the City of Amsterdam.
How can modern AI systems can be made safe and responsible in practice? With a focus on fairness, what kind of potentially harmful outcomes do we face when using AI-driven applications for high-stakes decision making? How can we ensure that these applications are not harmful to citizens? Which safeguards can be put in place to ensure fair outcomes?
Jeroen Silvis, lead data scientist at the City of Amsterdam, who is at the forefront of these difficult challenges gave this talk. Aysenur Bilgin (CWI) and Hinda Haned (UvA) were the moderators.
