Dutch Data Science Awards 2019

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, the Dutch Data Science Awards will be awarded by the Big Data Alliance. The ceremony takes place in Den Bosch at the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS).

Oxford professor Viktor Mayer-Schönberger will give an inspiring keynote speech on ‘Data-rich markets and their enemies’. After the keynote, an interactive panel discussion will be held with, among others, Viktor Mayer-Schönberger and Alexander Rinnooy Kan (Chairman of BDA), Alexander van Boetzelaer (EVP of Elsevier), Gerrit Timmer (Director of ORTEC) and Arno Nienhuis (Senior Director at Oracle).

Initiators and Sponsors
The KHMW, the oldest scholarly society in the Netherlands, was founded in 1752 to promote science and build a bridge between science and society. The Big Data Alliance is a collaboration between companies, universities and research institutes, established in 2015, with the aim of unlocking knowledge, sharing expertise and research and stimulating innovation in the field of data. Both organizations are the initiators of the Dutch Data Science Awards. They are supported in this by the University of Amsterdam , AIMMS , Lubbers De JongOracleElsevier and ORTEC, all companies with a strong technological background.
