Master Thesis Fairs for UvA Students

University of Amsterdam Master students from Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science and Logic will be starting their thesis projects soon. The Thesis Fairs helped them to discover the perfect company to complete their final research project.

A Master thesis is the final step towards a student’s graduation and the last opportunity in their education to showcase their knowledge and skills.

The Informatics Institute at the University of Amsterdam organizes an annual Thesis Fair that helps students meet organisations that offer MSc thesis projects. This annual event has been a success for over ten years, but has now become larger and more professional than ever. This is due to the significant increase in the number of Informatics students studying at UvA.

The Thesis Fair has now grown into two events, one specifically for Artificial Intelligence students and one for the students from Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science (Joint programme with VU Amsterdam) and Logic.

This year’s Thesis Fairs took place on 3rd October (Artificial Intelligence only) and 21st November.

Amsterdam-based organisations are increasingly realising the value of having highly-skilled students from the Data Science & AI Master programmes working with them on research questions. Both Thesis Fairs had at least 40 organisations present for the student speed dates. This resulted in 300 thesis projects being discussed during the events.

All ADS industry Partners attended at least one of the Thesis Fairs and provided projects for students. ADS strives to support events that stimulate a vibrant Data Science and AI ecosystem in Amsterdam.
